Every time. Imagine instead of having a social safety net, we had a social safety trampoline that let us ride the knocks and bounce back without dealing with racist, sexist, ablest systems designed to hold people back. That would be amazing.

I recommend reading โUtopia for Realistsโ. IMHO, UBI can help with some of the deadlocks and downward spirals in society while channelling more energy towards higher value types of work. It does take a change of mind though: people can feel overwhelmed by sudden access to time.

Give creators money no strings attached and you'll see such a boom in economic activity as art gets commissioned on all levels. The amount of books alone would go crazy and the quality would improve too. It's like how trickle down was supposed to work but actually would.
