yesterday: Microsoft announced record breaking profits, becoming the second company in human history to ever be worth more than $3 trillion. today: Microsoft laid off 1,900 employees from Activision Blizzard & Xbox. the greed on display here is genuinely revolting.

The two aren't unrelated. Part of the reason their net worth is so high is because they are using layoffs to bolster their profit margins and thus their stock prices. In the tech sector that's become the justifications for layoffs as a whole.
