Caveat emptor: It turns out that the 7-year-old big Samsung TV has an absurd single-point failure condition that's especially susceptible to a single foster kitten's curiosity. Part replacement, if you can find the part at all in stock, is $189 and it'll be here in a week or so.

I don't want some egghead bureaucrat telling me whether there's poison in the water I drink. Ideally I'd want that decided by a 29yo judge who went to a "biblical law school" and does not believe dinosaurs existed, and then to have that decision reaffirmed six years later by the Supreme Court.

To be clear, I have many complicated and nuanced opinions about Chevron deference, the administrative state, and the separation of powers as set out in the Constitution. But none of them matter with an ineffective and dysfunctional Congress and a SCOTUS untethered to modern realities of governance.

Ideological purity of intention is not so much the problem as it is the failure in the follow-through. The work doesn't end at electing progressives and passing progressive policies, it begins there. Implementation matters. Administrability matters. Budgeting matters. Governing is hard work.
