i havent read enough PKD, but some of Bradbury's work is in this vein. "The Pedestrian" immediately comes to mind.

I'm always happy when people bring up The Pedestrian. Yes. Bradbury was no doubt famous for his other-worlds writing but his cutesy homespun picket-fence horrors were superb.
