This. I’m 62 and still close with a group of women who met on Usenet. We migrated to Facebook a few years ago when Yahoo Groups got killed off.

You're not much older than me (and I know Usenet people who are younger!) but I always think of Usenet people as The Elders. I started on Salon Table Talk in the late 90s.
