To be clear, bypassing her for someone else would be a disaster. I'm for sticking with Biden but if not him, she's the only remotely reasonable choice. But nowhere near as popular as Warren was, and look how quickly that unraveled.

The "past" being not--as we were all taught to think throughout the 80s and 90s--the 1950s, but the 1780s. Vagrants jailed, common areas annexed, uptick in industrial jobs including children, high infant mortality, the rich sequestered in remote encampments, education for the poor left to charity.

It does seem to have become a big problem for teachers to manage. Speaking as a parent. It's ridiculous not to let them use phones outside of class, definitely. But no need for students to be contactable every second. For urgent problems someone can call the office.

I concur but I'm not on board with a school system that's bleeding money throwing millions at a tech startup. There are low-tech ways to remove phones. PPS loves to pay third parties to do stuff like email PDFs of flyers.

I thought of the "Sugar Shack" that's a coffeehouse in the song. And I think there's a Snak Shak that's more or less a diner in the Robertson Davies novel Tempest Tost. 1962 and 1951 respectively. Just a couple of data points. Shellfish never quit having shacks, though.

My husband is all plain black tea all the time, preferably Assam, but I love Lapsang and some of the floral ones. We have fancy ones, but when I only have the supermarket options, I've always liked Constant Comment. The orange peel aspect is great.

I only ever pick up takeout, but the interaction with the cart/restaurant is an important part of the transaction, even if it's a takeout-only restaurant. Plus restaurants are a brand. If you're ordering paella from the Amazing 15th Street Omni-Kitchen, it should say that, not Casa España.
