I'm a single mom with a disability who singlehandedly raises an autistic son with ODSP as our income (well below the poverty line). In my younger years, I travelled. Canada, even for the poor and abject, has a comparatively high standard of living. It's not perfect, but it's better than most.

It's interesting how the Supreme Court has consolidated power within the Presidency at a time when the two main candidates are both old men, well past retirement age, who, in order to be effective, need good teams around them who can act somewhat independently.

I live in non-profit social housing. So many people have stories of terrible abuse -- and they're not lying, I can tell -- and they often have proof, lol. I can name about 5 drug dealers around here, 2 of which I know were abused. Unsurprisingly, 1+1= addiction.

Do you ever get told something is good for you, but no one will disclose how or why? That's how I feel about mindfulness. If only mental health professionals would clearly explain what practicing mindfulness does, then I think more people would do it.

Mindfulness. First, you practice it. A lot. It teaches you mental focus and relaxation. Then, you use that focus to shut away all those negative, neurotic thoughts and concentrate on matters at hand. You do that so much you achieve a kind of inner peace, from not having so many neuroses. 👍🙏🙂

I think he doesn't ever feel remorse. I think he lives in a world where all his words and actions are "right" and if something goes wrong it was the other person's fault. Classic narcissist. His choice to lie to save face almost isn't a choice (but still is) because his vanity is so overwhelming.

His unwillingness to take ANY responsibility for his actions may result in a little jail time, though it's unlikely. Which is a shame, because as someone who has spent a weekend in prison (long story, charges dropped) it's a very humbling experience I sincerely wish for Trump.
