A warrior is not defined by the fights they have won, but by what they fight for. Stand for those less privileged, stand for the powerless, stand for those who will come after you. Stand for honor, or you stand for nothing at all, and are worth even less.

I'm okay with a debate, even with the flawed sound bite-oriented format we have, when there's an actual question. But I truly cannot believe there are people who are undecided at this point...

Awesome. It's really insane seeing the same talking points repeated ad nauseam on reddit. Never heard it called an industrial complex before but that's exactly what it is.

I always thought "but it's a dry heat" was some meaningless statement until I was in Baltimore in August. 90° in California is pleasant, 80° with east coast humidity is PUNISHING.

I love Gen-Z and Alpha but have to tell you, the worst cultural force of the younger generations is FOMO. It's okay to not understand a conversation you're not a part of. That isn't us excluding you, it's us talking to ourselves.
(Though personally I'm Xennial, not Gen-X.)

I work in a company that sells bridal and bridesmaid dresses. The sheer number of people who use the reason of return field to vent about Bridezillas is staggering.
"No longer need" is a pre-written option you can select! But people NEED to let us know that...

AI movies always make me think of dreams--a bunch of stuff happens that you have no control over and can't turn off. But MORE IMPORTANTLY: The most boring thing in the world is someone describing a dream they had because you can't replicate the experience. If you can't replicate the movie, screw it!

Stayed at a hotel once for SDCC that certainly wasn't a murder hallway, but was *absolutely* a haunted hallway.
Saw Victor Garber in the foyer as I checked out. Unless he was a ghost, of course.

This Ren Fair documentary sucks so much. It could have been a Stuff You Should Know Short Stuff episode but they decided it needed to be 3 one-hour episodes.

Well, damn....... Can't wait to see what consumer protection goes away next as we race to the bottom so profits can be 1% higher. I hope it's fold safety because I'm tired of eating fresh meat and it takes me forever to get them to rot on my own!

@benjaminahr.bsky.social Opened my email and got this. Took the survey and hopefully the feedback will make future shows even better.
There's a question about why I watched weekly instead of binging so of course I name-dropped TGT. Hopefully more FoDs get this survey email!

Also frustrating that, as little foreign aid as Palestine gets, the US is the largest donor. Don't get me wrong, we don't do enough--but everyone else somehow manages to do even less and get off scott free.

I was thinking something similar when watching HBO's RenFair documentary yesterday. They do a lot of things that kept making me think it was a dramatic mockumentary.

Wait, call me Bill Maher because I have a new rule: Your series gets to have one episode with Q or one episode in the Mirror Universe. You don't have to choose right away, but doing one locks you out of the other.

Seven seasons and a minimum of 20 episodes. OF THOSE TWENTY, no fewer than 10 should have nothing to do with any meta plot arcs. And at least one episode where someone turns into a child/hologram/salamander/etc.
You get one Q per series.

Yeah. Once Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds started serving the ensemble show I craved, I really started to appreciate Disco on its own terms. For what it was doing, being a show about ONLY Burnham, it was great!

Bluesky is really maturing, because we’ve reached “innocuous expression of frustration leads to incredibly farfetched attempt at shaming.”

It's a good observation! But also if people are being mindful they'll cut out the ones once they start feeling like chores. I stopped Connections when I found a more fun one, for example.

There's a really good Imaginary Worlds episode that's a decently long interview with the series director. The feeling I got from her was that there's no overt political intent, it's a revenge story first and foremost, but that implies a lot of unintended politics of course.

I've said time and again--the average movie ticket should be $5. If every movie is priced like an event blockbuster, people will only go watch event blockbusters.
Want people to see Bros, Fall Guy, or Polite Society? Make going "just to see something" something people can afford to do!

Look behind the counter and they have like nine people working at a time. McDonalds has maybe 6. When minimum wage went up, In-b-Out's prices stayed the same McDonald's ballooned.

In-n-Out isn't the best burger in California. It's a VERY GOOD burger, and it's AFFORDABLE, that's what we love about it. McDonald's is crap and costs $15 for a meal, In-n-Out is $10 and good.

Northern California has a bunch, too. I've seen about a dozen between Milpitas and San Jose. I have not yet seen a single one without a vanity plate, I think it's a law or something. They won't sell you one without a vanity plate.

He's so out of touch. His sitcom was great for its day! But it was based on his everyday experience as a working comedian. How much of that working is he still doing? His last major project was The Marriage Ref. That's been tired since the 80s!
