That is very interesting. I guess this assumption comes from all the election night charts which seem to suggest an almost straight transfer? Many of the charts on the BBC in particular, the percentage fall in Tory vote and rise in Reform seem roughly equivalent for a lot of them.

Thing is, the BBC wasn’t really being fair suggesting that. Some voters can move from party a to party b and the same number from party b to party c so that it looks like a has gone directly to c:
