I heard jokes for years about how bad the food is, and then I went and had the most delicious shades of brown I'd ever tasted!

Started up Variety and in the second scene, there's Baby Luis Guzman! Then in the credits I see Will Patton, Tom DiCillo, and John Lurie!
I love starting an older movie and seeing a ton of names I recognize, seeing people's work before they hit.
Oh, and the movie is fantastic too.

I need to remember these. I had a good time at this movie, but one of these Full Moon level titles would have made it better.

Maybe 15 years ago I found so many episodes, all terrible VHS rips, online and it was strangely revelatory, almost like finding a fossil in the ground and seeing the through line to a modern domesticated animal.

I was fast too young to get Anthony that happened on that show at all, but I was transfixed every night my parents let me stay up late to watch Nick at Nite.

I saw an early screening with the director and writer in attendance, and as soon as the lights came up, half the audience walked out. They were expecting a silly John Wick clone, not a quiet meditation on life, aging, and legacy.

Like when a horizontal bar club member drops from the spinning mushroom right in the center of a floating platform and he stops right at the edge and doesn't fall in the water, I think, is this what other people feel at a 3 point at the buzzer?

Sorcerer had the stones to start with the endings of four other moves we didn't get to see and then doubles down and doesn't give us an epilogue.

There are a lot of independent theaters where I live, and the repertory screenings that many of them do are the best because of that specifically. I can take my kid to something and everyone else is there to celebrate the same thing and we all get to love the thing together and it's wonderful.

I have friends who hate going to the theater, and having been to a Regal a few times in the last two years, I get it now! It really sucks! We have so many independent theaters here that I had forgotten how much of the country lives.

If you miss event television circa 2008, you are going to love Fallout. Full of 24 style time killers coupled with some great world building and storytelling, not a single thread followed to its end.
At least in 2008 we knew it would pick back up in the fall instead of ???
I got played.

In a South Korean movie called Unidentified, there's a bit where a guy puts in earbuds, and as he put the left one in, my right one went out, and then he put the right one in and my left one went out, and then he started the music for both of us. I had never seen that before and it gusted me so.

Excuse me as I push my glasses back up my nose. Oliver Stone wrote an earlier script that was completely unrelated to the one Milius wrote. Stone just got credit because of union rules, he didn't actually contribute to this movie at all.

I can totally see the middle school kid that this is going to be a formative movie for, though. Stumbling on it late at night, on whatever the modern equivalent of USA Up All Night is.
