To be clear, when fishermen say “I’ve been fishing for 20 years and I’ve never seen so many sharks,” that’s a factually accurate statement! Just an incomplete one. This is an example of “shifting baselines,” how much things have changed depends on when you start counting.

There is a name for this bias isn’t? - I mean, apart from the obvious “bias”. When you see the state of a system which has been extensively altered, but that’s your base observation, because of your shorter lifespan and very recent observations.
