— I have tried to look at my photos in a detached way (or studious, as with books), and not very successfully. I think it would be most useful. in many instances, the photo taking is very intuitive and lack analytical/comprehensive context— and this is where revisits serve a purpose.

— sometimes it’s simple: heavy handed processing at a weak learning point, and can it benefit from another outlook. (B&W vs. color is an obvious one). there’s a threading of me to be realised. there’s goosebumps and more often there’s cringing. sometimes a photo was tossed due to immaturity.

— when reading a book, or trying to understand (technical or life) concepts, and even repeated viewing of a photo book, observations and interpretations change with time. maybe it happens with some photographs of mine? that’s my curiosity, and hope it’s the case. 1/2

— I became convinced of doing so a while back, and can fully understand a hesitation. yet, many benefits (for me) outweigh the drawback/awkwardness. I think photo-social sites have this a nice side effect: one must see photos repeatedly with context varying.

wow. this all kinds of awesome for you guys in the USA… “specially for low-income workers” (I guess those that can afford 6 days of expenses succumbing to consumerism pressures). Project 2025 seems like a great conduit to fix all the ills in the USA: business growth through moral exceptionalism.

one of them is Mark Hollis, and this interview is a treasure— albeit difficult to watch at the same time.

it continues to amaze me how incredible 1979 was for music releases, even if confine to indie. it must rival 1973 in many ways, if not for the expansive sounds created. and yes, this is a fave (among an incredible list of others).
