If I'd had someone I could trust ask me if I liked girls when I was 9, I would have said yes. I didn't know what sex was. I didn't want to do more than hold hands and play. But I absolutely had the same crushes as I had on boys.

I want to make a big, thoughtful post about how being gay, bi, etc. has nothing to do with sex at the root, but not knowing that is why people think it's an "adult" (pornographic) topic, but I don't have the mental bandwidth to do it justice. But here's your reminder.

On a side note, his kids noticed. My mom kept me from my aunt (my sister's aunt, technically) because she's a lesbian. I didn't realize until my sister's baby shower, when I (over)HEARD her say it was because Aunt Foosie was bringing her wife. 2 years later, she did a full 180 when I came out, but🤷🏼♂️

You know, I don't think there's anything I would unread, except this awful short story called "The Kitten" I had to read in elementary school (in the 80s) that traumatized me so badly I still can't forget it. I don't read more than a few pages of any books I hate, though. "Dune" was close 😅

My endometriosis is obviously treated since I'm no longer menstruating. No more keratosis pilaris. My ED is in remission because I can't tolerate skipping meals. My body dysmorphia isn't as severe, either (it's still there, but I can deal with it). I can PHYSICALLY PLAY WITH MY KIDS again.

This isn't just about my gender, either. Because of it, I can walk. I reversed severe muscle atrophy. My ME/CFS is gone. Because of it, I'm no longer allergic to my sweat. I no longer get hives in the sun, either. I'm no longer anemic. It cured 29 years of severe major depression.

Like, some things are just obvious. But when you find out you fucked up because you didn't know better at some point (maybe you were raised with poor instructions on how to people), the DECENT thing to do is shut up, LISTEN, review, learn, apologize, and change. Reparations where applicable. Argh.

Something I'll never understand is not being upset with ONESELF when you hear you've caused someone harm. I am genuinely remorseful to anyone I've ever hurt, own my actions, and am willing to do whatever might help them heal (including stay tf away) if it doesn't cause further harm.

Ugh. Welp, our car's head gasket blew, so it's in the "a new car is cheaper" zone. Always fun when you absolutely don't have the money for that 😅 It was already too small for our whole family, so it's not like we didn't need a new one, but we've been living with that for 5 years for a REASON.

I've read so much sex in horror novels that it's CLEARLY part of the genre. I read horror and fantasy almost exclusively as a teen (in the 90s) and all urban fantasy of the time and most horror that wasn't YA had sex in it. I guarantee none of it is banned on those channels.

Saw a "being good doesn't get you loved, it gets you used" meme, and no. Being a good person absolutely gets you loved when you unlearn the "being good means being available to anyone" nonsense. Putting up boundaries may have people saying you're not good, but that's them telling on themselves.
