Every time you see a strike it should be an indicator of how hard the union has tried to negotiate. No one WANTS to strike. You give up your regular income and have to rely on your strike pool. It’s hard and risky and a last resort.

Yeah! The goal is not to strike!!! The goal is to use the strike to get what you need. You WANT the strike to end (on your own terms). People who think otherwise have swallowed a lot of anti-union propaganda. Like. Come on.

Twice in my life as a union member we've come close to striking. Both times the strike was avoided and both times most of us nearly cried with relief. Strikes suck and I'm so grateful our bargaining teams have been able to avoid them.

it's SO risky! like idt people understand that if a strike fails that can break the union, especially in states like mine where you can't be required to join the union/pay dues in a unionized workplace
