A reminder: Israel bears full responsibility for its campaign of total destruction of the Gaza Strip. But Hamas's 7th Oct attack was a reckless gamble which - so far - brought unprecedented disaster. Any analysis that omits Hamas's agency and responsibility, is not worth the paper it's written on.

Even worse are those analysts who welcomed the 7th of October as expanding the "imaginary for possibilities of both resistance and collective freedom". Carried away by images of destroyed border fences, they ignored both the nature of the attack and its totally predictable consequence.

Everyone bears all of their responsibility. No one should have their reasonability taken away by being infantilized. Everyone involved is adults who have agency and intelligence and can understand their actions and their likely ramifications.
