I agree with this assessment:
a. the UK is a deeply unequal country
b. this can empower far right politicians

Here is "The Canaries" report that warns, in great detail, about the dangers, risks, and damage arising from gross economic unfairness in the UK. (Named for the canaries used to warn of dangerous gas levels in coal mines, not the islands off the coast of Africa.)

What few people realise is that the far-right organisations world wide are backed by huge amounts of dark money. An electoral defeat here or there is only a minor setback and they have planned for it, balancing it against wins elsewhere.
