I love Slavic faerie tales; they’ll be like “there’s this creature that eats your feet if they dangle out of bed at night - also it’s a dead abandoned baby with the face of an old man that screams like a thousand mothers mourning their sons lost to war and it shits black rotting fish”

I have been yelling this into the aether. Voting is the start of a very long journey. The way laws are drafted is going to have to change to anticipate lawfare and explicitly address the many technical arguments used to dismantle them. I used to train in contract construction.

Yes, the main thrust of my comment and frustration generally is that I get yelled at and called names for asking for SOMETHING. So far all my prodding is just leading people to educate me about how bad it is. I want a glimmer of a hint of something that isn’t set fire to everything.

Multics had persistent programs ie once run they sat in their VM forever waiting input. The UK military proposed non overwritable storage (Adam) and wrote an OS (Flex) on it for ICL Perq. Lost to history mostly.

You’re rude and don’t tolerate any dissent nor engage with the points being made. Just insults, patronising comments and presumption. I don’t know your voting intentions.

I find his behaviour mired in Americas traditional approach. I don’t think someone hardcore would have worked on diplomacy personally and promptly, but
just thinking back Hillary prolly would have been exactly the same. If he’s hardcore there’s no fixing this ?

I wish he would.
His original reason for avoiding this was his leverage in the region depended upon his perception as not being too anti too fast. Obama did the right thing and the effect was temporary. Today he doesn’t have any excuses left and what I want to see him getting *that* message.

Can’t argue with that.
There’s a general difference in competence between the present two sides that was less pronounced in the past. What’s new is the rise of abdication of responsibility as a political tool and it’s consequences are corrosive.

It’s not okay. I didn’t ask for “a complete solution” I asked for some direction some clue that just might tell me how you get to where you want to be without possibly losing the next election. Your whole attitude to avoiding this is my problem.

50 years ago I objected to the military industrial complex mutual interest in providing unlimited aircraft and training because it would lead here. Americans did this by voting. Bleating about Biden’s ineptitude isn’t just lacking a bit, it’s obfuscating, absurdly late and WHO do you want?

Upending the whole table may work it may not. If people like you lead with the facts instead of the insults and the vacuous JuSt ChAnGe CaNdIdAtEs I would not comment.

I am aware, and I don’t need to look it up because I was around to remember it. I am against the genocide and I believe Biden should have pressed home his advantage on many occasions. I am also parodying the complete lack of any useful proposal to fix it and endless repetition of just ONE fact.

As long as you have a press and media run by billionaires that holds each side to radically different standards because they have a vested interest in the chaos that they sow winning is really hard. Money in politics the other side of this and just as toxic.

Idolatry is so weird to me. One of my moots has serial worship of different kpop idols, like one a month, screaming foaming at the mouth, snapping knicker elastic ecstatic hysterical devotion. Apart from that quirk she seems totally sane. It should be recognised as an addictive drug.

Now we have bread so refined it’s not even good for your digestion and tasteless fatty single flavour cheese (in two colours) that is the staple diet for most americans. Lifespans are shrinking for various reasons. Poor diet is one.

40 years ago my industrial 422 connectors worked like this and supported 1km cables when the rest of the world was using 25 pin D type connectors with only 3 wires inside that went 3 meters.

Throughout history the US has shovelled trillions into Israel and the topic has become part of people’s identity. Rational assessment is breaking through but it’s painful watching people focus on the leader and not the pervasive endemic and entrenched problem of political opportunism here.

He does it all personally you know, the massive generational support for Israel that the world has always found perplexing (see 70 years of UN resolutions) doesn’t exist. He didn’t kick start peace talks on Oct 8th that everyone walked away from. He didn’t censure Bibi and call 4 cease fires…

The whole idea of “files” and “overwritable” was the original wrong idea. Having programs which “ran” and “ended” was the other one. Neither of them are necessary and are an evolutionary dead end.
