I'm like remembering how to sew from Home Ec fuckin 25 years ago to do this and its been a struggle lmao. Getting those pocket patches on without sewing them shut was such a pain and I'm unreasonably proud of myself even if the flaps cover part of the patches

Thats definitely my plan, I'm just worried that the soft cloth will be hard for me to keep stretched properly while I hand sew it compared to the embroidered patches and it'll come out looking shitty
