Also, "porn" is the term being intentionally used because it has a thought-ending effect - people hear it & think of pornos, & often don't want to be seen as defending those in "polite company." It's their euphemism of choice for SOCIETY-WIDE CENSORSHIP. They want a say in anything you experience.

I definitely can't afford a sweater's worth of yarn at my LYS, especially since I'm still learning and will certainly rip back and split / break the yarn a bunch. My local craft thrift store doesn't have enough yarn in stock to be worth visiting often, nor do they have fiber content labels.

This, absolutely this! There's still time to go back to masking in certain circumstances. Just cos you acted one way yesterday doesn't mean you have to act the same way tomorrow. Your risk calculations can and should get updated. Your risk reduction behaviors can and should get updated.
