Rewatch complete introducing my dad to The Beekeeper. Ayer and Statham make an incredible team giving us one of the most satisfying revenge flicks in recent memory. As much as I love capable villains watching Statham dominate everyone is an absolute religious experience.

One of the most relentless, hard hitting, emotional and violent movies of the year. Amazing action performance and first feature film for Lakshya. Manages to make you feel for the villains while waiting for them to meet their end. Truly one of the best action movies of the year.

Rewatch complete of one of the best anime adaptations ever. Satoh puts in the work and proves himself an action star. Pitch perfect casting and costume design. Above all else some of the most amazing sword fighting ever captured on film choreography courtesy of Kenji Tanigaki.

Much more of a focus on human interaction and dealing with the end of the world than a creature feature. Solid direction, great cast including one of my favorite performances of the year by Nyong'o. She tells much with just her eyes it’s amazing to watch. All I want is pizza!

Exactly what I hoped for and a true return to form for Murphy in the role that made him a superstar! Nothing overly complicated just a fun story, awesome cast with great chemistry, perfect nods to the past films, practical car stunts and grounded action. It’s great…trust me!

Rewatch commencing on one of my favorite series ever. Amazing re-imaging of the classic series and a perfect example of how to update an idea without sacrificing what made the original beloved. Great casting, thought provoking story and fraking space battles!! SO SAY WE ALL!!

Great documentary about an amazingly talented group of young actors forever labeled and how they’ve all lived with and come to terms with being in the Pack. Very honest look at how Hollywood and movies changed on the 80s. I still want to be in the Brat Pack all these years later!

Rewatched the best comedy of the last 15 years. Tatum is the ultimate himbo and no one plays dorky better than Hill and hilarious supporting cast. Incredibly smart script and possibly the funniest scene ever. A sequel that busts through its ceiling over and over.

First watch of 2024 is filling in a 2023 blind spot. Gerry Buts and Waugh are a lethal cheeseburger ass moving making team and this one has added layer of thoughtfulness that makes it more. Negahban & Fazal are tremendous and add so much to what could be throw away roles.

Exactly the mashup I thought it was going to be. Story is ok visually it’s totally Snyder’s aesthetic. Should have just released his uncut vision from the start. Score is as epic as the visuals and a surprisingly amount of practical effects. Curious to see where the sequel goes.

Sean Durkin gives us an emotional gut punch of a movie. Everyone is great but this is Efron’s movie and he delivers a career defining performance. He’s got the rizz and disappears into the role. Great soundtrack and 80s vibe adds so much to the feel of the movie. Good movie!!

Happy 4th anniversary to this gem. Before you say “gem” like most Star Wars movies I have my minor issues and I don’t see this movie as a response to the fandom menace…I see an action adventure movie with great set pieces, fun performances and a satisfying ending.

This movie always makes me laugh. Sure some the jokes are dated and not needed but Mel Brooks always delivers. It’s is insanely quotable and poked fun at Prince Of Thieves and Adventures without stooping to being mean spirited. Lots of laughs and great comedic performances!

I was the sound designer on The Abyss, so I have seen the film many, many times. But it has never looked or sounded better than it did tonight in the new restoration. Kudos to Jim Cameron & @galeannehurd.bsky.social & everyone who worked on this restoration. The 125th St crowd in Harlem loved it!

Couldn’t pick anything new to watch. My favorite Rocky movie never fails and when the number 9 is counted and Rocky stands up underdog stories don’t get any better than this. Full of emotion and heart this is just another reminder Stallone is a filmmaker!!

Tale of 2 movies, one about grief of losing a child and Woo action movie. A lot to like such as Kinneman’s performance, car stunts snd stairway action scene. Surprisingly grounded for a Woo movie but when action hits it hits.

Simply amazing!! Terrific writing and fantastic storytelling. Gorgeous animation each frame could be a piece of art hanging in a museum. Amazing action choreography that made you feel every cut and impact. Tremendous score with amazing covers make this a can’t miss series.

Loki season 2 was excellent across the board. Excellent performances by the entire cast with Wilson and Ke Huy Quan stealing so many scenes. Unique story full of fun action, humor, and tons of emotional satisfying moments. One of my favorite MCU scores and productions to date!

Rewatch complete and the A4E mantra of hooking up your actors on full display. Grillo rules, Iko is treated like the movie star he is, kaiju suplexing each other, great practical suits and a killer soundtrack. @LiamODin even gives us a blooper reel what’s not to love!!

The blood sweat and tears that went into making this is all on the screen. What Jesse V Johnson does with the time and budgets he’s given is nothing short of astounding. Kurylenko gives her best performance showcasing all the sides of Boudica expertly. Action, gore and great score.

Finally watched this and wow I’m mad at myself for not watching it sooner. Terrifying premise, great acting and above all else one of the best synth scores in a long time that added to the tension and buildup. Perfect melding of Carpenter and Reznor that I couldn’t get enough of.

Halloween rewatch of my favorite Rodriguez and vampire movie. Movie star making performance for Clooney and fun cameos left and right. Creepy kidnap tale leads to crazy vampire killin’. Tons of gore, practical effects and great soundtrack make this a true horror/action classic!

Annual rewatch complete and after nearly 30 years it never gets old. A true acting showcase for Brandon Lee, a killer supporting cast, classic soundtrack, sleek action and gothic set design all add up to an absolute classic. Buildings burn, people die, but real love is forever.
