Matchbox puts out a lot of reasonable utility vehicles. I use them for drawing reference. I'm glad such mundane things still get represented.

So Boomers are pretty messed up, but to be fair they were raised by a generation with undiagnosed PTSD. WWII being a continuation of WWI, which itself was the culmination of disputes lingering since the fall of the Holy Roman Empire. So next time a Boomer acts like a fool, blame Napoleon.

Fast swapping packs would require an amount of standardization thay doesn't even exist in gas cars. Replaceable packs, even if a cooling system must go with it, are what's going to be needed. Plrnty of people buy a 10 year old car intending to drive it at least 10 more. Serviceability is a must.

I don't live in a major city, and can count the number of women I see bike commute on one hand. That's why this is an interesting topic. Being male I can't fully see the other side's view, but I am left to wonder what the deciding factor is when I've observed harassment to be universal.

American here, so take what I say with a pile of salt. All genders seem to get harassment from drivers over here, though the specific harassing words (slurs) used probably vary based on identity. I see plenty of women recreationally cycling on the trails, but very few doing it for actual commuting.

Ice cold take that's 10 years too late: I love micromobility. Biking, skating, scooting, even monowheeling, but there's no way to ride a hoverboard that doesn't make you look like a massive tool.

That's a tough one. Gas lines were notoriously leaky and unreliable, so continuing to use them for anything similar is trouble. I only see 3 ways forward. 1. rip up and recycle. 2. repurpose (maybe for conduit), or 3. forget and leave them to rust away.

Gas (methane) had a job of giving existing power plants a prolonged life while we got new solar/wind/nuclear and other clean generation methods up and running. The ease of conversion to gas from coal did help cut coal particulate pollution at least. Its job is done now. Time to wrap up and move on.

Yesterday a whole crank arm fell off my bike. My fault for not checking the screw tension regularly. Thankfully nothing stripped, and the screw landed right next to it. Imagine my surprise at "what's that wobble?" CLANK

I pronounce both bike repairs and self repairs a success. Today I returned to bike commuting, 2 months to the day since the crash.

New bike day. Got me a Zizzo Ferro folding bike. Small enough to be a carry on on a train, or fit in the trunk of the car. It's less for getting somewhere as it is for getting around a place once I get there.
