I'm not saying you're inventing a guy here, but type "Kamala" into this app. I don't see people calling for contested conventions, even among the left. I see people calling for his handpicked VP because they realize what's at stake and that there's no time.

The recent Pod Save podcast debate on Biden was focused on an open convention, with no mention of Harris. Bill Maher, the scumbag that he is, also called for one. Most of the NYT articles were about an unspecified new candidate. You may be right on BlueSky but this place is not the norm.

It seems like for people who recognize that Biden’s debate performance was a disaster, but also want to be annoyed at the NYT ed board and “elites”, zeroing in on the exact position of “not Biden and also not Harris” was the best bet for maximum smug points
