That conversation Anakin has with Padme about how everyone should just “decide what to do and then do it” and if they don’t agree, a strong leader should *make* them agree is the smartest thing Lucas ever wrote, and I’m not sure he or anyone involved ever understood that.
Yes - that he then has Anakin turn evil not in a way that harks back to that but in a very silly way in Revenge suggests yeah, he didn’t quite get what he had with that speech.
