One of the reasons TA work is sometimes (AND OFTEN NOT) repetitive lower-skilled tasks is bc these are training tasks for early career scholars. If we automate them and eliminate the positions associated with them, we are explicitly gutting the future of these fields.

I personally think scenes shot on location feel richer than scenes shot in a green screen studio or in the volume. But the James Gunn Superman leaked photos have taught us it’s just not worth it to film these scenes in any sort of public view. The ignorant negativity is appalling.

Up until about 1920 we used to add seats to the House after every census. Freezing it at 435 was a huge mistake and would only take an act of Congress to undo.

Watching the UK election results I have to reiterate my perennial gripe that the House of Commons is bigger than the US House of Representatives and Senate combine despite the fact we have a much larger population.
