We're actually engaged in a big dust-up re Hill Harper's candidacy on our Nextdoor site today. Supporters of Slotkin are making a lot of noise about Hill Harper being the anti-trans candidate based on the fact that Dave Chappelle is doing a fundraiser for him.

Angela seems nice and smart, but I don't think she's ever even had a fulltime job. She's just graduated from Michigan State University. (Incidentally, her mother is Susan Demas www.susanjdemas.com/about/, longtime D partisan journo, and now VP of a "firm specializing in campaign strategy.")

Biggest thing for my work at the state level is to come up with a list of talking points and run them by helpful colleagues. People who are (1) familiar with the research can make sure you're hitting the main points (2) unfamiliar with the research can help you ensure clarity/accessibility.

I believe this. It's why I garden like I do, open my home to people who want to see the solar panels, dig native plant babies and give them to my neighbors, make habitat for frogs. It's a drop, but it's *my* drop. It makes me feel better, of course, but it's also an example of an alternative.

@washingtonpost.com I agree that Biden struggled, but 'deflect' doesn't capture what Trump did. He LIED and obfuscated a lot. He simply refused to answer questions much of the time.

Helpful maybe? If you need buckets of various sizes (with lids, too!), check with your grocery store bakery. I use buckets for lots of things (here, I've got some weed tea brewing, using the HD bucket w/lid from white bucket). I found out that my store's bakery just *throws them out!*

Another interesting thing about this email is that there's no mention of "electric" vehicles, using the term "advanced" instead. I expect she's having lots of interesting convos with the car manufacturers and the Whitmer administration.

I got an email from Rep Slotkin about legislation to "address the threat of advanced vehicles produced by adversaries like China to our national security." I'm concerned that the 'threat' is a bit of a red herring and will prevent transition bc American cars are so expensive. Do you guys discuss?
