Whitmer phoned campaign chair Jennifer O’Malley Dillon with an unambiguous SOS: to relay that Michigan, in the wake of the debate, was no longer winnable for Biden.

I should turn these posts into a meditation for myself. Thank you!

I believe this. It's why I garden like I do, open my home to people who want to see the solar panels, dig native plant babies and give them to my neighbors, make habitat for frogs. It's a drop, but it's *my* drop. It makes me feel better, of course, but it's also an example of an alternative.

@washingtonpost.com I agree that Biden struggled, but 'deflect' doesn't capture what Trump did. He LIED and obfuscated a lot. He simply refused to answer questions much of the time.
"Biden struggles, Trump lies and avoids answering"

If they're going to do another debate, it need to happen either
(1) at breakfast time, or
(2) at the 5pm early bird supper at a Village Inn

If I were going to grow mushrooms, which I'm not....but if I were, I'd use these buckets instead of the grow bags that are used for only one crop of mushrooms.

Helpful maybe? If you need buckets of various sizes (with lids, too!), check with your grocery store bakery. I use buckets for lots of things (here, I've got some weed tea brewing, using the HD bucket w/lid from white bucket). I found out that my store's bakery just *throws them out!*

Maybe it should be more like "climate reality is clashing with the unreality that Miamians are holding onto."

That's a curious title. "...entering a state of unreality..." I don't get what it's trying to convey.

Another interesting thing about this email is that there's no mention of "electric" vehicles, using the term "advanced" instead. I expect she's having lots of interesting convos with the car manufacturers and the Whitmer administration.

I got an email from Rep Slotkin about legislation to "address the threat of advanced vehicles produced by adversaries like China to our national security." I'm concerned that the 'threat' is a bit of a red herring and will prevent transition bc American cars are so expensive. Do you guys discuss?

Sincere question: is anyone seriously looking at what a post-insurance world, or at least a post-insurance capitalism, looks like? We’re hurtling toward it in geographically lumpy, uneven ways, which should create a lot of natural experiments to study.

On a scale of 1-10, how cravenly soulless and stupid do you have to be to pretend "addressing climate change" means "controlling how much it rains?" 1=not at all, 10=pathologically so. wapo.st/3RsITro
