Short answer: free Google products don’t care if they don’t work. They exist to gather information about you, not function effectively.

Have the numbers of local radicals really gone up or are we just seeing them more clearly now that they have podcasts and YouTube channels?

Help. Why is the NYT doing this nonsense? Trump is obviously projecting when he does this, as he has been doing for five years. It’s not just something “Democrats are suggesting”. It’s so weird and depressing.

I don’t think they’ll show up. There’s so much sturm and drang about the violent far right but I just don’t see them in numbers large enough to enact some violent coup. The biggest problem is the genpop’s indifference to democratic ideals not their dedication to forcefully destroying it.

Yeah yeah yeah lots of us have studied disinformation and done our history homework but…we are at a strange place. Parallels exist to other rising fascist regimes but huge differences exist as well. No past dynamic fits exactly onto 2023 United States. Who knows what will happen?

Yeah, when I change it and excitedly ask “See the difference?!”, I get blank stares.

I’m on there every five minutes and don’t see anything about DeSantis other than the debate. Did some career ending evening occur?

seems surreal to just be like chilling in a country that has better than even odds of becoming a fascist, theocratic dictatorship in like a year

Totally true. Although at the time, that was pretty standard American procedure.
