This is a brilliant idea, folks! The trick is to do it at a completely random time. Say, 9:42AM on a Sunday morning. Go thru your txt msgs to find one of your bestest friends, and compose the sweetest note ever that would make top-grade Quebec maple syrup taste bland. It feels good to do, too.

I did a 紀伊半島 train tour with my friend when I was in high school, and we took that train. He told me to just grin and bear the vomiting businessmen and just let them be. (Our dads worked for the same company, so we both sympathized with that lifestyle.)

I can relate. Back in the day, there was a 23:45 快速 train out of Tokyo bound for 大垣, except that it was a 各停 down to 小田原... which meant that it was full of either drunk/vomiting businessmen catching the 終電 (it was the last train out in that direction), or 青春18きっぷ toting teens (like me at the time).

And here's exactly why - despite English being a Germanic language (Old English would be easier understood by Germans than native English speakers today), it was French that was the language of the noble English for a period of time, thanks to the Normans.

There's already a very low level of political trust and voter turnout in Japan. While these stories become part of the news and social media chatter, I am not sure if it is helping anyone. So yeah... Politics is weird everywhere. The US is no exception now.
