Heat exhaustion. I could not cool down. Even when taken into air conditioning, ice packs on me…it took over an hour for my body to not be hot. I’m not allowed to work until Monday. I’m fucked

When I was a kid, used books were one of the few things I could afford. And pre-internet if I wanted to know something I HAD to find a book about it. The store was run by an old lady who didn't mind if you spent all day in there flipping through books. A parking lot?!

It really was a great book store. Huge. Tons of old, weird books and magazines. And the most adorable store cat. Walked up and rubbed all over every customer.

I'll never understand why mental health isn't looked at the same as physical health. The brain is an organ & can malfunction just like the heart or lungs. If one has a heart attack we don't expect them to just act normal. We don't consider them weak. But with mental health we do.

Actually orbiting the sun is probably wrong. They were between the Earth and the Moon at the time, and moving toward the Earth. So wouldn't the trash bags be moving the same speed? Did the bags follow them back to earth?

TIL on the way back from the moon, the Apollo 15 crew did a spacewalk to retrieve a camera that was mounted outside the spacecraft. Before closing the hatch, they threw out two bags of garbage which presumably are still orbiting the sun. How funny would it be if they were found someday?
