i love the idea of franchises in a 'collective creative work and setting' way, but corporations always need to focus test it and star wars and their ilk are too valuable to take risks anymore. as a tangent, this is why all the rumored avatar/korra projects feel me with some dread.

i will say, versus dracula's been doing a pretty decent job of the returning to the mcelroy's playing with reckless abandon. don't know if they'll hit any emotional depths, but it's nice they're just doing a solid comedic campaign.

also, i'd be game for, like, a non-branded sci-fi or fantasy hotel experience, given the appropriate price. it'd be a harder sell, of course, but it would also mean there's no outside world building to worry about and get 'right'.

I always sound like “Old Man on the Internet” when I try to explain to the youth how wonderful RSS is. I’ve used Feedly for years. If you want to read a wide array of sources, with no ads, with complete control and little algorithmic weighting, and stay well informed, then RSS is what you want.
