it is legitimately weird how often I see posts that don’t match up at all with my experience here and then I realize that: - I’ve been on here since last April - finding cool people in those early days required work - people really don’t want to do that work anymore

Yeah… “people really don’t want to do that work anymore” feels like the problem pretty much all the non-algorithmic social media sites are running into right now. Seen it on Mastodon, cohost, etc.
