I think every day of my life about the recurring “curse of the Best Supporting Actress Oscar” joke that went on for years where women like Mira Sorvino had one big hit and then vanished and we never did the math that they were all fucking Miramax movies produced by Harvey Weinstein

Just watched Pearl. What a great film! And Mia Goth is next level incredible in it, somehow managing to be vulnerable and terrifying in the same breath. Loved it.

Interactions with my 11 year old now go like this:
Me: What are you doing/playing/eating?
Him: Fine! I'll stop doing it then!
Followed by him storming out of the room.
The teenage years are going to be rough.

Second year watching This Is Christmas has pushed it further up in my top 10 Christmas films. It's terribly cheesy but there's a reality to it and it's one of the few Christmas films to show people having real life 9 to 5 jobs that sometimes get in the way of fun.

I've reached the part of the day where there's so much to do my brain has decided the best course of action will be to just zone out for a couple of hours and worry about it all tomorrow.

Made myself laugh with the idea of someone asking for Marvel Phase Four on blu-ray for Christmas and a well-meaning relative buys them Phase IV, the 1973 ant movie, by mistake.

Moss-Bachrach was also in the horror movie remake Come Out And Play, directed by the masked director Makinov, whose identity remains a secret.

Totally agree, give them a few minutes at least, there was almost no point in letting them speak at all. I did enjoy the show overall though!

My mum and I graduated the same year because she got her Masters the same time I got my degree. Her graduation ceremony was way better than mine because Staffordshire Uni gave an honorary doctorate to Benjamin Zephaniah. I remember his speech was more inspiring than anything I'd heard at my uni.

‘We can all be refugees
Nobody is safe,
All it takes is a mad leader
Or no rain to bring forth food,
We can all be refugees
We can all be told to go,
We can be hated by someone
For being someone.’

So, I have to come back to this because I've just been watching Tár and the whole time, despite having read and commented on your post, I thought it was by the Todd who directed Joker. There are way too many Todds.

I recommend Lingua Ignota. The albums tell a story so you kind of have to listen to Caligula and Sinner Get Ready to make sense of Saved but the journey is worth it

I'm always getting the Todds mixed up. Todd Solondz is the other one I get confused with the others.

I don't know why I never learn that I don't enjoy work Christmas parties because they inevitably send me into an existential crisis in which I question all the poor life choices I've made to find myself at another work Christmas party.

I live 5 minutes walk away from my daughter's school and the number of my neighbours I see a) driving in and b) insisting on parking as close to the school gates as possible is ridiculous.
