A new banner, for social media and trade shows. (The designer asked not to be credited. They don’t seek more of this sort of work, it was a favour.) I like how it reminds me of how many original graphic novels I’ve written. I haven’t done badly! And there are more to come. #graphicnovels #comics

Roger Fulton's book says the BBC 1980s run is the first full run of all the episodes, and the first time it was seen since the ITV episodes.

Granada showed it in 1964, and some other regions followed suit.

I don’t think so. The BBC Genome only lists the 1980s run.

It’s unsustainable. Ukraine’s drone attacks on Russian oil facilities have also been economically devastating. Russia can’t carry on like this which is why Putin is shifting focus to get puppets elected in western democracies so they can push for a peace deal that will save Russia. 2/2

The Economist has some astonishing figures on Russian losses in Ukraine. They surpass all losses by the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation from 1945 to 2022 combined. Up to 728,000 soldiers eliminated, confirming Ukraine’s figures. 1/2

The 2nd leading pollster projects a similar result—if anything a higher range for the Left coalition.
This wld be a much stronger result than expected for the Macron bloc.
If confirmed, key takeaway: Left & Macronist voters transferred onto each other much more than expected. Clear anti-RN front.

JUST IN: Polls closed in France. Exit polls show surprise:
—Left coalition (New Popular Front) projected first. (!)
—Far-right (RN) has lost its bid to take power. Anti-RN front appears to have worked very well.
—No bloc close to majority.

It’s funny—he was very highly valued at the time and shortly after, but then he fell heavily out of favor mostly due to style. Glad that he’s getting the appreciation he deserves nowadays.

I was reviewing a book about the presentation of gender in the Claremont run, and was very surprised at how much academic work had been done examining it in the past decade. Just a whole field of Claremont studies I had never encountered.

Also great about the Krakoa finale: connecting the end to the start, and making sure it all achieved one enormous thing, and wasn’t just another comics cyclic Ragnarok. Applause to @kierongillen.bsky.social @al-ewing.bsky.social @gerryduggan.bsky.social

I think in recent years the size of Chris Claremont’s achievement with the X-Men has *started* to get due recognition, but he’s still vastly undervalued. In terms of representation alone he was *decades* ahead of the pack. Claremont, everyone, Claremont.

One of the many great things about the finale to the Krakoan Era of X-Men: Chris Claremont got to stop hinting and openly depict a same sex couple. So pleased they got him back for that issue. #Xmen

There's a whole stretch of WORLD'S FINEST covers, mostly by Win Mortimer, showing Superman, Batman and Robin together, even though they're not in the same stories inside.
It seems like it'd be fun to tell the unseen stories behind each cover...

I know nothing about PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE. I don't know the murderous aliens behind it, particularly Xarzon, who is a good friend. Anything they do, including raising the dead to destroy humanity, I wish them luck. But it has nothing to do with me.
Hail Xarzon.

Analysis by the Sutton Trust suggests that Keir Starmer’s cabinet will have the highest number of ministers educated at comprehensive schools, and the lowest proportion in modern history who went to private schools.
