There are now 150 voting and election cases pending in 39 states. 62 of them are from Republicans trying to restrict your right to vote. Whatever else is going on, please don't ignore the GOP's escalating attacks on free and fair elections.

Right? And not to say that it's not helpful--keeping us informed of the risks--but it's also just freaking me out to the point where I talk to the doctor about it every time I get a checkup. The graphs help by putting some things in context, but I also feel like that "guess I'll die" dude, y'know?

No romance author should EVER ignore this. I don't care if you think you're different from porn, throwing porn under the bus only greases its wheels so it can run you over next. If you write ANYTHING but very bland cishet romance you're first in line. But it will hit you eventually either way.

one of the downsides of a post going viral: attracting extremely unpleasant randos, from conspiracy theorists, to cynics who just want to shit on your parade, to a bizarre user who makes you the subject of his strange and insulting poem even though it's the first contact he's made with you.

Yeah. And maybe I'm oversensitive, but when I do get hurt, I can't really consume any more work by whoever hurt me, you know? Because I can't get absorbed in the story--it's eclipsed by their behavior (and the feeling that I'm not cool enough for them).

This is also a nice reminder that when conservatives say, "Judeo-Christian" they mean "Christian," because you know nobody at Project 2025, including the person who wrote "Judeo-Christian" below, means anything but Sunday when they talk about deciding what people can & should do on the Sabbath.
