"You have a broken puzzle, a paint-by-number with half the numbers gray. With a paint-by-number, if you try very hard, you can guess at what some of the missing shades and hues must have been, but what you come out with is either less than, or more than the truth.” - From WIP

It is. I wouldn't share it because that's what they want, but absolutely ... it's a dick move.

I blocked that guy. It's a troll account with nothing behind it and only posting anti-Biden posts and parroting the NYT so no loss.

This is the second guy whose entire timeline is BIDEN HAS TO STEP DOWN - both with avatars wearing a sailor hat and no names attached - I blocked so I can't show you but... @nihilism.bsky.social

Please quit posting that very low participation nothingburger of a poll - it has no meaning other than the NYT wants this to happen, and you are the second I have idea who you are sailor cap guy I've seen posting this over and over.

Today (despite the heat) I ran 3.3 or so miles. I found a bolt beside the road and named it Usain Bolt, so I ran a couple of miles with Usain Bolt... found a spoon to keep with the garage cats food so I don't lose any more of Trish's. #foundoutrunning #foundbyroad

Surprising literally no one... the governors who visited the White House are still supporting their nominee, the President has had a checkup since the debate and his health is fine, and The NYT can fuck straight off. It's not optimal, but no worse than it was before the debate. Happy 4th...

Reviews have started coming in. I told you all you don't want to miss this one (even if I'm the author it's okay to listen to me) . Someone now needs to make me this "Mind Fuck of the Year" award so I can have it :)

Payments stage 1 done for authors. Novel revised to just under 20k words, 18 chapters. Starting to get to the weird part now where it's always seemed off before. There are a number of victims and they have to be kept straight. We'll see. Nightly note - resist. Don't let it eat your life.

He memorized all traffic patterns for a major city and in his head designed a means of tracking the patterns that could be used to solve issues. Entire mass-transit schedules. Several languages in almost no time at all... and made up his own complete with grammar.

There are plenty of instances of apparent eidetic memory, but yeah, it's nothing like the TV version. Some obviously is a mental ability to use a memory technique, but we published this. This guy ... very close? William James Sidis. His recall was incredible.

#HorrorWritersChat I mentioned this in a comment elsewhere, but, eidetic memory means you can memorize something, like a math book. You can solve equations you remember. It does not (like on TV) mean you can process a new equation you have never seen.

#HorrorWritersChat - When Monica Velazquez was a girl, her mother thought the eidetic memory was evil. She found her putting a puzzle together starting at a random piece and flung the pieces, then took a handful. Monica put it together (including the blank spaces) with what was left.

One of the TV tropes about photographic memory is that it makes people able to do everything. My character for instance comments several times about this. She could picture something on canvas exactly as she wanted it and not paint it. She could do formulas from books but not solve original ones.

#Horrorwriterschat I'm going to add something. In TATTERED REMNANTS the main character is a Latina Detective with an eidetic memory. It becomes clear in the course of the book that this is as much a disability as an ability. She can't forget anything, good, bad, traumatizing...
