I think the reason Philip K Dick is still the predominant SF writer of the last century is, he was the only one who foresaw a future where everything would be boring, inconvenient and dehumanising, and where the only way you can win is to somehow refuse to give up your humanity.

I managed to tow an electric tractor from Santa Rosa to Oroville using my Ford F150 Lightning. I had to unhook and park the trailer in order to charge but otherwise it went pretty smoothly.

The grand irony is that there are real abuses of nonprofit status, which have been enabled by a SCOTUS & the GOP. Decisions like Citizen’s United have allowed the wealthy to use their money to reshape politics. The IRS were told not to investigate abuses.

In the Spring of 1864 Twain, while working as a beat reporter for the SF Morning Call, Twain witnessed the murder of a Chinese laborer by a mob that included cops.
It radicalized him. He wrote it up, one of the first things he ever authored which he thought deserved to be called “literature”…
