"I know I made sure my passport was in my backpack pocket 3 times yesterday, but WHAT IF I TOOK IT OUT AND PUT IT IN A DRAWER SOMEWHERE AND FORGOT I DID THAT?" good stuff, thanks brain, very helpful.

Travel always totally cooks my brain because on top of finding it impossible to sleep on airplanes, I ALSO don't sleep for at least the last night before traveling, while my brain goes through the lists of things I could have forgotten.

The drugstore stopped carrying the deodorant that I'd gotten used to using so I had to pick a new one and now it constantly smells like there's a stranger standing right behind me.

I just finished @lmanusos.bsky.social's forthcoming novella From These Dark Abodes (from @psychopomp.bsky.social). It's creepy and mysterious (the kind of superb mystery I just can't put down!). And when the mystery unfolds...It did not disappoint!
Can't wait for this one to be out in the world!

I also came into the comments to say how much I ADORE that production. Both leads have terrific instincts for physical comedy, itās great. I think I was able to rent it through the National Theatre but that was several years and one computer ago so Iām not 100% sure.

An oldie but a goodie is Howlās Moving Castle; thereās also Swordheart and the Paladin books by T. kingfisher which have nice lived-in-feeling but never (for me anyway!) overwhelming worlds and characters?
