We knew Biden was old. We've done been known it.
I disbelieve that he's lost his marbles because we've had evidence to the contrary. He's older and slower but he's lucid. His decisions are bad, but they're clear-sighted.
But trying to get him to quit has been great for headlines, I guess.

Wrote about FORREST GUMP at 30. For a film that obviously resonates with a lot of people, I honestly can’t fathom what it’s trying to express. amp.theguardian.com/film/article...

I think we have a lot of people who fetishize polls because of the 2012 election and the way that was spun to be all about "See? If we just Moneyball this motherfucker, we'll always be 100% right!"
They forget that neither Silver nor anyone else credible got 2016 right.

ALSO: This is because I fixed a minor typographical error and need to send a book back to the printer. But I can't find the orignial unfucked PDF, so I have to strip the cover off my *_readercopy.pdf and send that. Editing is already done, so ALL of this is just to DELETE TWO PAGES.

No exaggeration, this feels like installing a particularly big piece of software in the Windows 95 days, where it wants me to restart the computer once and restart the app itself three more times, and it's just a shitshow. AND I have to pay monthly for this horseshit (something I'll quit next month)

Holy fucking shit.
What's a good, free/cheap PDF editor? I recently got a new computer, and Adobe's software to AGES to download, then another 40 minutes to download the "extra" shit I needed to actually edit, and now it wants me to restart so it can add on some AI bullshit.

My dad had to “upgrade” a house his grandpa left him — a double-wide trailer on the edge of a lake — into a 2-bathroom, 2-story livable house because he wasn’t allowed to tear it down and start over.
It was a trailer with no direct street access!

Those rules are almost exclusively made in service of NIMBY assholes who don’t want the noise and mess of construction.

Something else: I really do think that the people around Biden are capable of judging if he's impaired and would use the 25th Amendment if necessary during his second term. Not so with Trump, who would have them killed for trying and plead immunity.

("Primary source" in this case being the weirdly amateurish podcast produced by someone with ties to Boris Johnson, NOT the actual victims. Just to be clear.)

I suspect we're going to get a LOT of people just circling back to how shitty the primary source is, and not addressing Neil's part in the whole thing at all.
