If it helps any, I spent ALL WEEKEND (6+ hours each day) fighting with Adobe and Ingram because a book I was uploading was (for some reason) .17" off from its intended measurement on one side, and I couldn't find a way to resize it without breaking the PDF.

I think that's the thing, honestly, is they are mad at themselves/their people. My father-in-law, who argued adamantly during the 2020 primaries that we all had to rally behind Biden because of his electability, feels deeply betrayed. I think as a white guy with money, he's not used to that.

There are outliers, but I really don't think it's the left that needs this lesson. In my anecdotal experience recently, the people who need to be reminded of the stakes are centrist Democrats who feel they were lied to. For those of us who never liked Biden that much, less has changed.

I'm not, and it's hard to imagine that I ever will be, honestly. Smith's movies pretty much always work for me. He and I have a lot of shared sensibilities, even if he's prone to going way off the rails in search of a joke. The only filmmaker where I've seen everything he's done at least twice.

We knew Biden was old. We've done been known it. I disbelieve that he's lost his marbles because we've had evidence to the contrary. He's older and slower but he's lucid. His decisions are bad, but they're clear-sighted. But trying to get him to quit has been great for headlines, I guess.

My dad had to “upgrade” a house his grandpa left him — a double-wide trailer on the edge of a lake — into a 2-bathroom, 2-story livable house because he wasn’t allowed to tear it down and start over. It was a trailer with no direct street access!

Something else: I really do think that the people around Biden are capable of judging if he's impaired and would use the 25th Amendment if necessary during his second term. Not so with Trump, who would have them killed for trying and plead immunity.
