In 1997, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department "made up" evidence against 2 teens to pin a murder on them.

When the real killer - who later confessed - killed again LAPD pinned THAT murder on yet someone else.

Last year a man came to jail medical staff w/stomach problems. They gave him antacids & sent him back to his unit

He got sicker for days - bc it turns out he had hepatitis A

A new report analyzes what happened & how the jail vaxxed >1500 ppl to avoid an outbreak.

My brother was in LA, so I took yesterday off to hang out with him and we… spent ten hours quietly working next to each other. Stopped to discuss how our parents really overdid it with instilling work ethic in their kids to the point that we both feel guilty relaxing. Then worked some more.

I, a salaried journalist (till the next round of layoffs anyway), cannot do that bc I chased away Becca by talking constantly about the legal documents & cold calls so now I mutter my despair as i stare at my jail deaths spreadsheet. Have I been doing it wrong or am I just in the wrong industry
