The whole experience is very easy and the people who work there are great. I plan to go back a lot.

Most but a few were surprises because Doug had told the woman helping us some of the kinds of stuff I liked as well. So she grabbed a few things based on that.

Hey, kids! Grown men geeking out over comic book art. The folks at the Library of Congress could not have been nicer. In addition to the Spidey story from AF 15, @comicsinthega.bsky.social and I saw several other pieces. Finished with a complete Sal Buscema Cap/Falc book from the Bronze Age!

This will be my third trip to the Billy Ireland to see an exhibit and I've loved each one, and especially loved reserving the reading room to look at old art. But OMG I hate driving through the mountains to get there because I have a big fear of heights.

My daughters go to a secondary school (7th-12th) & the biggest in the state, so despite my severe antisocial tendencies, I've found myself becoming vaguely familiar with a surprisingly large amount of people. Personal encounters & Facebook help me weed out a lot, but Nextdoor is a good backup.

My only reason for keeping it is just so I can find out if one of my immediate neighbors or someone I otherwise know reveals themselves as one of those nutjobs.

A few years ago, someone posted a photo of a black person walking on the sidewalk and basically asked "does anyone know this very suspicious person walking down the street?? Should I call the police?" So yeah, I shouldn't be surprised.

I live in a very safe county with a very low crime rate but my neighborhood is filled with people using Nextdoor who seem convinced we are living through Mad Max and there is some huge, deadly crime spree going on. It's insane.

Many of these were done by his studio. Sometimes he would do the covers, sometimes just layouts, and sometimes other artists would just try to match his style. I'm not sure how much of a hand he had in this one. www.comics.org/issue/903913/
