I *think* it was either a one-off special or an episode of an anthology storybook series like CBS Storybreak or ABC Weekend Special, but I'm not sure. And it would have been late '80s at the absolute latest, possibly earlier.

Oh no, this would've been firmly in the 1980s, FernGully was '92.

All I remember is that it was animated, that there was a sneering hammy villain, and a colorful, enchanted forest with some sort of protective spirit with a feminine voice. The villain was trapped at the end in the forest and transformed into a tree while the voice calmly chided him. Anyone?

forgot most of the details, then remembered them decades later but got some of it wrong and had to hunt down the titles to confirm they'd actually existed (for example the Sooper Goop cartoon, or the Sword and the Sorcerer movie). There's one such I still haven't found which I'll try to describe.

Hey, those of you who are near my age, maybe you can help me out with remembering an animated special that may or may not have actually existed. (No, this isn't Candle Cove type stuff, I'm being serious) There are some bits of very old media where I saw them at a young age and then (con'td)

Yes, although I'd feel bad about asking folks for subscribed, recurrent donations without having something regular to provide them as a reward.

Fair question. I've had a Patreon in the past (technically I still have one), but I have had difficulty coming up with content that is regular enough or interesting enough to subscribe to.

He kind of shrugged and was like "I dunno...I think they just *really* like sports mascots or something?" I still wonder if he ever sought out the truth, or if he thinks that to this day X)

I unclipped and pocketed my badge before getting in the elevator with him (and a few fursuiters). Once the fursuiters had exited on their respective floors, it was just me and him, and I leaned in and was like "So, uh...do you have any idea what this is all about?"

There's this story I like to tell where, one time at FC in the 2000s, I got in the lobby elevator with a confused-looking businessman who was attending a regional conference being held in some of the event rooms adjacent to the furry stuff. I don't dress any different when I'm at cons, so (con't)

We might need a little more assistance for rehab, but I'll let you know what we're planning to do with that when it becomes relevant.

I am in need of immediate surgery due to an aortic root aneurysm that has reached 6 cm in size. Insurance will cover the major bulk but I am left with a steep copay amount. I hate asking but I do need help on this. (more details to follow in the replies

Not gonna lie, I really wish I was at AC Though at the same time I think the sheer size and bustle of it nowadays would probably overwhelm me and tire me out

There are artists who I looked up to in my younger days in fandom, and some of them have absolutely hit the skids these days. (If you can read this, I'm not talking about you.) I would MUCH rather not see that happen to anyone else I know.

The honest, core emotional reason I post a lot of tips and techniques and shortcuts and links to new art-related apps is that I'm trying very hard to allay the feeling a lot of artists feel nowadays that we're slowly becoming obsolete and behind the times. I would rather empower creative folks.

ALSO: if you select a gradient layer (using Object) and change the setting to Fill, it becomes a single solid field of color which you can then change the RGB values of as many times as you want. That + masking = quick flat fills that you can adjust as needed🤯

What I didn't know is that if you create a new gradient layer, the new layer has editability preserved. You can go in and adjust the gradient with handles. This + masking/clipping + layer blending can give you easily editable shading effects.

The default setting for the gradient tool is to create a rasterized, non-editable gradient on the layer you're editing. If you go into Tool Properties and change it to "create gradient layer," it creates a NEW layer for the gradient. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE

So I keep finding new features in Clip Studio that I never knew about because the app is kind of vast, and here's one thing I found recently that I want to share because it might save y'all some time with flatting & shading.🧵

I think I need to make sure I know the precise differences between "coder," "programmer," "developer" and "software engineer," since I sometimes use those terms casually and I think I may have inadvertently stepped on some toes :F

Being a nostalgia buff unfortunately sometimes means every once in a while you find out things you don't want to know. Like "oh hey I wonder what happened to that one actor who voiced Plonko the Radical Poodle, I should google them, wow that's an unflattering mugshot"

Anker Soundcore Q20. I've had pretty good luck with most of the stuff I got from Anker — definitely not *all* of it, but most of it.
