I imagine that there would be a bloody conflict that would significantly dwarf the effort it took to reclaim Kuwait from Iraq. I hate to say it, but Ukraine will be unable to regain Crimea for instance. They are truly fucked, and it is gut-wrenching to say this.

On marriage equality, there were a lot more Democrats pulling for it than Republicans. But Hillary and Obama were more opportunistic. Even when Prop 8 could have aborted before it gained steam, Obama hesitated and gave a wishy-washy thumbs up for traditional marriage.
