"In this Review, we consolidate research from four domains in social psychology (prejudice reduction, conflict resolution, intergroup reconciliation and affective polarization) to elucidate the critical features necessary for successful intergroup interventions."

lazy literature research request: I remember a relatively recent paper, which attritibutes the AfD vote differences in Saxony and Thuringia relative to the other East German Länder on historical factors (catholicism?). Can anyone help me out here?

If an effect falls in a forest and no one is there to determine the mechanism, is it even causal? New post in which I try to clarify some things--claims about causal effects are indifferent to mechanisms; heterogeneity does not invalidate average estimates. www.the100.ci/2024/06/26/s...

Still obsessed with this German stats textbook explaining that linear regression is like fitting a large sheet of paper through a swarm of bees.

our methods for studying political change and stability typically provide group-level estimates, while our theoretical goal is often to understand individual-level processes.

Steve Vaisey (@vaiseys.bsky.social) & I ask whether we can go from the former to the latter in panel data:

Was soll das? Es ist mir im Jahr 2024 ein Rätsel. 4/4

What to do if a paper in a predatory journal directly copied a table and a figure from our work, without citation? Also other tables look somewhat familiar, so your paper may also have been plagiarized. Check out here: aipublications.com/ijllc/detail...

Does anyone know of multi-site registered (replication) projects in (cog) psychology looking for contributors for data collection around end 2024/first half 2025? Does a database/platform exist to find collaborators for such projects? Any suggestions are appreciated!🙏

i've said it before and i'll say it again, my least favorite part of writing papers is dealing with word limits that include references in the count, i want to KEEP THEM ALLLL we are always BUILDING on others' work. #AcademicSky #PsychSciSky

One of my favorite recent papers is Kane (2024).

I like to think of it as a paper about power.

While pitched (effectively and usefully) as a paper about compelling null results, many of the action items are ways to boost power.
