It’s amazing to see them in 2024 say a scandal could hurt a potential presidential candidate.

The planet was used during an FF book in 2020. a shame that it didn’t come up in any of the Star Trek/X-Men crossovers that both universes have a planet full of 1930’s gangsters.

They’ve since purged it from their site, but Penguin had worksheets on their sat as late as 2007 (evidenced by teachers guide mentions Zodiac) Question 12 is a bonkers thing to ask for students to do.

The continuing theme of Tom King’s long for old movies: in the film M, a child killer gets a girl’s attention by offering her a balloon. It’s later seen floating away, signaling that he has murdered her.

The idea of what a person “would be entitled to” by the constitution means little after the Chief Justice declared without–constitutional backing–that the motive for the imprisonment cannot be investigated.

If an organization says the second US revolution will be bloodless as long as there isn’t resistance, perhaps that should be taken as a serious threat.

I have literally met people who self-identify as fascist.
Some people believe that it’s better.

Here’s a member of the Christian right saying “America is going to need a Protestant Franco.”
That’s not coping. It’s looking at fascism and saying “sounds great!”

He talks about Jan 6th as if it’s an unpleasant but acceptable part of the process. If it were “dark day” why not say what led to those events, and how was involved? And how the person involved might be the reason the election is about the state of democracy?

I *think* she’s saying that because something can be a sexual fetish that it’s only a sexual fetish. Which is simply not how fetishes work. Which is nonsense. If that were true, many medical practices would be considered sex work.

The other actors had such distinctive faces, and then they added more details to hide what is/isnt prosthetics. This is a regular man with two circles glued onto his forehead. The washed out colors don’t help. With everything desaturated, his red skin is less different than an expected human tone.

I work outdoors, and had sun poisoning two weeks ago because I had to work 8 hr without a break when the city had a UV warning. I hydrated (as much as possible with bathroom breaks and wore sunscreen). Even when i collapsed the following day, I was first told to work thru a 100° fever in 98° heat.

roberts’ reasoning is fundamentally (lower-case “r”) anti-republican. i know we dunk on the framers here but roberts has issued a rebuke of the revolutionary assumption that concentrated, unaccountable power is a fundamental threat to liberty.

This Originalist™ court has effectively immunized both the president and all federal law enforcement officers from any meaningful accountability. Because if there are two things the Founders cherished, it's the power of a king-like executive and armed agents of the government to act with impunity.
