in the first past the post system of voting, thinking your vote matters and is the winning vote that pushed the winner over the finish line is deluded. no such thing happens in the illiberal democracies that use this system. there is that. if you are stating that voting matters then make a case

You miss the point: It isn't that voting doesn't affect which of the two representatives of the Ruling Class get to represent you. It's that the bourgeoisie owns the media, lobbies the candidates, and basically decides who *gets* to be one of the candidates in the first place.
