If you are in Canada your employer is *legally obligated* to offer you accommodations from the list maintained by Health Canada or "reasonable" similar accommodations. The list is quite long btw!

"broken clock is right twice a day" sucks. i hate this phrase. i want to design a better broken clock. when you shake it (sounds of loose gears and springs) it will tell you a random time that is not the current, correct time. it will be right no times a day. this ain't your grandpa's broken clock

I think that's a little unfair; I know you've worked campaigns, decisions are not made off the cuff and any decision like this is going to weigh *which specific* tactics are used at least as much as whether or not to do them, as well it should. If he can't do it, they wouldn't even weigh it.

Yeah 10000% and I will add that as someone who has been actively supporting and at times very actively organizing in support of Palestinian liberation for YEARS, the vast bulk of the people I am still in touch with (I've dropped back quite a bit as a new dad) recognize Biden as way safer than Trump.

People don't remember this anymore, but after Obama's bad first debate with Romney he dropped by ~4 percentage points in the national head-to-heads. There's no archive for 538 for 2012 (thanks NYT), but RCP's average (for what that's worth) shows this as well. The debate was October 3rd.

We treat dogs and cats extremely differently when they are alive so of course we treat them differently when they are did. That's just normal human nature. This isn't a defense of it - I don't eat meat and don't think people should! - but I don't think it's hypocritical.

My case that "voting matters"? The outcome of elections has a clear and measurable impact on policy (I trust you don't need me to cite examples for you as you live in 2024). That outcome is decided, ultimately, by votes. I'm genuinely uncertain what is hard to understand.

Postcards are best targeted at marginal voters and unlikely voters; door knocks are best targeted at persuadable voters, because can have an actual conversation and make that attempt. (Obv details matter and different circumstances call for different tactics and modifications to tactics so YMMV).

It depends on what your campaign is trying to do and how organized a particular campaign is. Both have pros and cons though. Postcards are much more likely to get looked at than normal letters, register as personal and informal so are more persuasive, and reach a lot more people than doorknocking.

Side-note, but one thing that should be on a Dem legislative agenda is formally codifying academic standards for what can legally be called a university and have the authority to grant valid qualifications. Make it clear that Bob Jones, Liberty, etc are vanity grift organisations and nothing more.
