It is incredibly infuriating that all the complaining about cancel culture paved a path to this, where state officials are saying that they are allowed to censor any faculty speech that contradicts them.

I find this whole โcancel cultureโ argument hypocritical, since itโs being raised by people who never ask for, much less respect, other points of view. Growing up in Kentucky, I saw right wing people โcancelโ others many times. They just didnโt call it that.

Important to note that the state has already been censoring professors for years in Florida. Now, they just want to formalize the process.
My field, public policy and administration, would be impossible to teach under these conditions.
