I like how part of National’s campaign vibe was “how dare central govt tell local govts how to do things” and now they’re banning local councils from setting their own speed limits on local roads

And 'we reject the recommendations of the local council review and will not be setting up a specific channel for collaboration between central and local governments. What local governments need from us is funding, which is why we have axed three waters...' just. How can anyone take them seriously.

The hypocrisy is just part of the buzz Like Bishop's housing prescriptions and the water quality "not-regulation-regulations with no funding", Corolla ferries and "new" surgical wings with no staff, people so habituated to control fraud they don't recognise their 'control" doesn't exist
