I was walking the dogs yesterday and passed someone's yard where one of those self-propelled Roomba lawnmowers was running. Nora stopped and....stared. And stared. When it moved away she took a step toward it, and when it moved toward us she took a step back. She was so confused 🙂

Clearly the obvious answer is to form an LLC 🙂 Seriously, though,t here are legal constructs and contracts that can be bent to fit the situation as needed, I would imagine.

My guess has always been that if a monogamous relationship requires x amount of communication, a poly relationship of n people requires x^n amount of communication. (Certain an exaggeration, or course, but it's the general idea)

Step 1: Install Ublock Origin extension Step 2: Turn off Javascript on offending sites. That gets you most of the content, though you likely forfeit multimedia.

I took the dogs on a 2-mile walk and while I was OK (though sweaty) I think it was taxing for Nora by the end. The encounter with the pittie/locomotive yesterday left her a bit banged up, I think, and she's feeling it today. Hopefully this will pass quickly though!

Actually, as I was looking for that artwork I came across a bunch of photos from that era. I'm not in most of them since I was the photographer (and a terrible one at that - those photos kind of suck...). I also repacked everything and they're in the back corner of the closet. I'll look later tho! 😀

As promised to @tofte.bsky.social, the very first furry drawing of Duncan, made at Pennsic War 1996 by William Blackfox. The merino ram was his idea as I didn't know enough about furry to have chosen a fursona. The physical resemblance was close, though, and I was wearing that outfit at the time 🙂

Like most pitties I've met they were a complete sweetheart, if overenthusiastic. The owners were very apologetic, but it was just fine. Nora was grumpy about getting knocked down but the pittie and Charlie got along quite well 🙂 (2/2)

Well that was a fun bit of excitement. As I was walking Nora and Charlie neighbor's pitbull mix snapped their leash in their back yard and came charging at Nora, bowling her over...and then stood there, grinning and tail wagging. (1/2)

5/5 You get the idea. Have some care and consideration for the convention volunteers and know that they are almost certainly doing everything they possibly can to make things run as smoothly as possible. Sometimes, though...shit happens.

4/5 Fun things like: * Expected 20 people to run reg terminals, got 5 * Router crapped out and took the entire network with it * Convention center didn't get power hooked up until the last minute and so no on-site testing was possible.

3/5 requires people with expertise in programming, equipment logistics, networking, volunteer management, point-of-sale transactions, and a ton of things that I'm sure I'm forgetting. In all of that, all it takes is one small thing to wrong and you're in a world of shit.

1/5 Speaking of: Anthrocon, like MFF and like all furry cons out there, has a lot of smart and talented people dedicated to making Registration run as optimally as possible. If someone's response to a problem is, "Well, all they need to do is..." chances are that they are not...

Acepromazine. Last year I dosed both Nora and Charlie with it then freaked out that Nora was still woozy 24 hours later. Turns out ace-pro is metabolized in the liver (Nora's had liver cancer for 2 years now). She was fine after a while, though.

Just before I took that photo, I had gotten up to move some laundry. Charlie tried to jump off the bed to follow me and pretty much faceplanted. I picked him up and put him back on the bed and he hasn’t moved an inch since.
