It’s really important for these folks to do this and be applauded, regardless of their other politics. It’s (apparently) very very hard to stand on principals over party.

Honestly, he was well liked by democrats in his constituency—including myself. Adam was in politics because he actually cared AND he listened; we felt that here in Illinois. Even from those of us who never voted for him. 🤷‍♀️

For the entirety of the Trump years we've heard about all these Rs who can't stand him, privately disagree with him, can't wait for him to be gone. The fact that so few have had the stones to say it out loud tells me that courage is in short supply there, or the so-called anti-Trumpers were lying.
