I don't think so, but honestly I'm not close enough to youth culture to say for sure. I think it is just started from learning the word from text instead of speech and enough people have done it that it has caught on. The decline of magazines reduces the context for traditional pronunciation too.

Really not very impressed with Window's built in dictionary. It's constantly making me second guess myself. I know I'm a bad typist and an ever worse proofreader but I don't appreciate my computer gaslighting me about the validity of words like "unpowered", "intentioned", "blocky", and "seriffed".

In my 2nd/3rd grade full time gifted classroom there were 5(?) computers. One of them had MindMaze on it. But it was also the only computer that had the Logical Journey of the Zoombinis on it. So every day the fantasy/trivia nerds had to fight the little guy/logic nerds over who got to play what.

It takes alot of teaching. I believe this is a female Belted Kingfisher teaching her female youngster to fish. This branch seemed to be a learner’s branch. No hovering required, just dive when you see one. My fave photo from Thursday.🪶

Though much like that guy, I'm sure I:d also say Japan is hotter because I know air-conditioning is not ubiquitous like back home. Being able to breaks from the heat makes it much more tolerable... I hope to visit Okinawa someday! I feel a great affinity towards it from what I know of the region.

Ha! I would believe it, humidity so greatly changes experience of heat. In the US some people prefer the southwest to the southeast because even though it is hotter in the desert at least it's "a dry heat". When I first moved west though I was accustomed to dry conditions, which made me feel unwell.

haha I can't unwire my brain from mm/dd/yyyy but I suspect it evolved from the order dates were handwritten? ie, July 5, 2024. my paperwork for immigrating to Canada needed dd/mm/yyyy notation, which I hate, and I had to triple check everything to be safe. fwiw, I think yyyy/mm/dd is best.
